In an interview with Fox News on the evening of March 16, former President Donald Trump was asked about the Duchess of Sussex’s meetings with Democrats – a prediction about a possible presidential race in her future.
“I hope that happens. Because if that happened, I think I’d have an even stronger feeling toward running,” Trump said.
So far, Mr Trump has remained uncertain about running for re-election after a term. “A poll shows they want me to run again. But we are thinking and will consider,” the 45th president of the United States opened.
The former US president’s latest comments come more than a week after Prince Harry and his wife Meghan’s shocking interview with Oprah Winfrey. Last week, former Trump senior adviser, Jason Miller, said the US billionaire saw Meghan Markle “no good” but did not publicly share his thoughts for fear of receiving a backlash from the public like Piers Morgan.
Meanwhile, rumors about Meghan Markle might run for president are increasing. A senior member of the British Labor Party, who worked on Tony Blair’s team on Downing Street, said Meghan Markle had begun to connect with senior members of the US Democratic Party.
He said the former Suits actor is trying to build campaign groups and raise funds to prepare for the possibility of a campaign in the future. In addition, he added that Meghan will most likely run for the White House in 2024, when President Joe Biden is 82 years old and will have to decide whether to continue running for a second term.
A source close to Meghan currently refuses to comment on the above rumors.
